Cartoon Network's Hot New Import, Lupin the 3rd™, Joins The Simpsons™, Popeye™, Reservoir Dogs™& Other Cultural Icons On Relic Lures LLC Products

Japan's top animation property, Lupin the 3rd™, is the most recent pop franchise to lend its likeness to this hot-selling line of fully functional 'fishing lures with character'. The show debuted on the "Adult Swim" block of the Cartoon Network in late January, and has already captured an audience. Pioneer Entertainment (USA), Inc., one of the largest suppliers of Japanese animation in the U.S., is releasing a collection of DVDs and 'club mix' audio CDs nationwide, supported by an aggressive national advertising and promotional campaign.

Lupin the 3rd (www.lupinofficial.com) joins the existing line-up of character/logo licensed lures based on the phenomenally successful TV series The Simpsons™; the classic cartoon series Popeye™; the stylish cult film Reservoir Dogs™; and a line of 1940's classic American pin-up girls, featured on beer cans from The Relic Lures Brewing Company.

The lures are carried nationwide by specialty sport and outdoor stores, gift stores, and via catalogs. They are featured in the 2003 master catalog from Cabela's, the world's foremost outfitter for hunting, fishing, and outdoor gear, with 90 million catalogs distributed each year. Cabela's was recently featured in The Wall Street Journal as an innovative retailer of outdoor products. The lures can also be found on Cabela's web site at www.cabelas.com, along with more than 130,000 outdoor-related products. According to the American Sportfishing Association (ASA), there are over 50 million recreational anglers in the U.S. alone - more than recreational golf and tennis players combined. Over $42 billion is spent each year on fishing tackle, trips and related services, and over one million jobs are related to sport fishing. And, a recent nationwide Harris poll found that fishing was ranked the most popular outdoor activity in America, and was the fourth favorite leisure pastime, behind reading, watching TV and spending time with the family.
